Policy - Registration
If you feel you have a warranty issue with a SEDA product, please contact us immediately. For warranty claims, please be ready to provide your contact information, where and when purchased, and a description of the problem. We work closely with our dealers and will make our best effort to ensure problems are resolved quickly.
For fastest service, please have your Coast Guard Hull ID Number available. This number is located at the stern of the boat just above the seam on the right hand side (if seated in the boat) and begins "SDD" followed by a series of numbers and letters.
If the product must be returned to the factory, we will provide a Return to Manufacturer Authorization (RMA) number. Please affix the RMA number to any goods being returned, along with your name and a contact information. Returning a product without an RMA number will significantly delay our ability to respond in a timely manner.
All SEDA kayaks and canoes are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three years from date of purchase. All other accessories carry a warranty for a period of one year from their date of purchase. The following conditions apply:
SEDA will replace or repair all items returned under warranty at its discretion and is the sole judge of warrantibility.
The following are never covered by warranty:
Freight damage by carriers other than Seda Products
Improper storage
Improper use
Abuse
Towing
Normal wear and tear
UV-degradation of colors
Kayaks used in commercial ventures are warranted for a period of two years. If a product is sold as blemished by SEDA, the warranty remains the same except for the coverage of the specific blemish. The location of warranty work will be coordinated at the discretion of SEDA if required. The customer must pay all to/from transportation, freight and packaging charges for warranty claims.
We do not require registration in order for the warranty to be valid, but you will need to provide your information and proof of purchase at time of service, and it sure helps if we can contact you should we need to. Warranty registration data is used only by SEDA, and will not be sold or disclosed, although upon request the US Coast Guard can ask for information to assist in search/rescue operations. Please use on of the following four options for registering your SEDA kayak or canoe:
